"an ideal locale"
Truehouse is close to Sandbanks Beach, Picton, Wellington, Lake on the Mountain, and Base 31. And on our road alone you’ll find Waupoos Vineyard, County Cider, Cressy Market (with the best fish and chips in the County), Joel’s award-winning butter tarts, a lavender farm, organic blueberry picking, fresh picked flowers, local beef from the farm, cheesemakers, apple orchards and a little restaurant named Stella’s that serves farm to table gorgeous meals on their patio.
Truehouse sits quietly in this paradise surrounded by old growth forest. It’s pretty much a country dream.

the story
Truehouse began as a place of adventure and connection — a historic Girl Guide camp where generations of young women created lifelong memories. Today, we’ve reimagined this special space as a retreat, blending its rich history with a fresh focus on creativity, wellness, and community. Nestled at the edge of Prince Edward County, in Waupoos (derived from the Ojibwe word waabooz, meaning rabbit).
Truehouse is located on the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat and Anishinaabe peoples, specifically the Mississauga Nation. We are grateful for the opportunity to live, work, and gather on this land, and we strive to honour its history and the Indigenous communities who have cared for it for generations.
Whether you’re joining us for a workshop, retreat, or private booking, you’ll feel the magic of Truehouse — a place where nature, history, and creativity come together as something truly special. Welcome to our little piece of paradise.
